India has dispatched medical assistance and relief material to Madagascar following the damage caused by recent tropical cyclones that affected large parts of the island nation.
Officials said the assistance includes around 12 tonnes of essential medicines and nearly 18 tonnes of disaster relief supplies. The materials were transported by an Indian Air Force aircraft as part of the country’s humanitarian outreach during natural disasters.
The medical aid package includes emergency medicines, surgical supplies and other healthcare essentials intended to support hospitals and relief teams working in affected areas. The relief material also contains items required for immediate humanitarian support to communities displaced by the cyclones.
Government officials said the assistance reflects India’s continuing commitment to supporting partner countries during emergencies and strengthening cooperation in disaster response and humanitarian relief.
Authorities in Madagascar have been working to restore essential services while relief agencies continue efforts to provide medical care and basic support to people affected by the disaster.
