The Telangana government is preparing to launch a dedicated online platform to coordinate with non resident Indian doctors who visit the state and are willing to contribute to public healthcare services.
Officials said the proposed portal will allow overseas medical professionals to register their availability and areas of expertise. The information will then be shared with government hospitals and medical colleges that may benefit from their services during their stay in the country.
Through this initiative, visiting specialists may participate in surgical procedures, clinical consultations and academic training programmes for young doctors. Health authorities believe such collaborations could help strengthen specialised care in government hospitals while also improving medical education.
The move is part of a broader effort by the state to enhance healthcare delivery by leveraging global expertise from the Indian medical diaspora.
Officials also indicated that the health department is analysing data collected over the past two decades under the Aarogyasri health insurance scheme to better understand disease patterns and treatment outcomes in the state.
