India’s highways are set to become more intelligent and data driven after the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) introduced a new framework to share infrastructure and operational data with leading government research institutions. The initiative is expected to accelerate innovation in road safety, traffic management, infrastructure planning and sustainable transport while strengthening collaboration between academia and the public sector.
The framework allows premier technical institutions to access a wide range of National Highway data for research and development purposes.
