Yogi Adityanath has said that affordable healthcare and compassionate behaviour by doctors are essential for strengthening trust between patients and medical institutions.
Speaking at the inauguration of a super speciality hospital in Greater Noida, the Chief Minister said that quality treatment alone is not enough. Patients also expect sensitivity and respectful communication from healthcare professionals during treatment.
Adityanath noted that the government has taken several steps in recent years to expand healthcare access across the state. He pointed to the growing network of medical colleges, new hospitals and improved health insurance coverage for economically weaker sections.
Referring to the national health insurance programme Ayushman Bharat, he said Uttar Pradesh has issued more than 5.6 crore golden cards to eligible beneficiaries, the highest among Indian states. The scheme allows families to access cashless treatment for serious illnesses in empanelled hospitals.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the expansion of AIIMS institutions and other tertiary care facilities across the country, saying such investments are improving access to specialised medical services.
He added that strengthening infrastructure must go hand in hand with improving the doctor patient relationship, as both are crucial for delivering effective and accessible healthcare.
