Doctors Advise Early Care for Fever, Cough, and Respiratory Symptoms
Hospitals and health officials in Karnataka have reported a seasonal rise in viral infections, with increasing cases of fever, throat irritation, cough, and respiratory discomfort being recorded in several districts over the past two weeks.
Doctors say fluctuating weather conditions, rising temperatures, and crowded public environments often contribute to the spread of common viral illnesses during this period. While most infections remain mild, medical experts have advised people not to ignore prolonged symptoms, particularly among children, elderly citizens, and individuals with weakened immunity.
Several hospitals in Bengaluru and nearby urban centres have witnessed higher outpatient visits related to seasonal infections, according to healthcare professionals familiar with current patient trends. Physicians are encouraging people to maintain hydration, prioritise sleep, and avoid self-medication without proper consultation.
Health authorities have also stressed the importance of hygiene practices including regular handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and avoiding unnecessary exposure in crowded areas while experiencing symptoms.
Public Health Experts Emphasise Prevention and Timely Consultation
Medical professionals note that seasonal viral infections usually remain manageable with adequate rest, nutrition, and hydration. However, they warn that delayed treatment in vulnerable individuals can sometimes lead to secondary complications including chest infections and severe dehydration.
Doctors have advised parents to closely monitor children showing persistent fever or breathing discomfort and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms worsen.
Public health specialists also say growing pollution levels and changing weather patterns in urban regions may be contributing to recurring respiratory health concerns across multiple Indian cities.
Healthcare institutions are expected to continue monitoring infection trends over the coming weeks as seasonal changes continue across southern and central India.
